Dr chan is absolutely incredible and straight to the point. Some people say she’s “direct” but I love that she doesn’t waste time and she gets right to it. She looks at all your information/charts, figures out a plan 1 step at a time so you’re not overwhelmed & provides you with clarity. She gives you your time to ask your questions & answers them exactly how it is. She has your best interest! Way better than my last clinic I was at.

All one star reviews on google about Markham Feretilty Clinic are very accurate such as clinic's communication, dradmin, drnurses. Technically it's only one way communication. They can contact you, but it's not easy to contact them. You will be very annoyed and frustrated. I have experienced the same with another reviews about their department Markham Care Imaging Ultrasound. It's very disappointed, not professional. They don't look like to care about your feelings. Doctors don't have time to take care pregnant women. They only focus on infertility. I read some 5 stars reviews, it seems to be voted by itself such as "email reply in timely manner, great details, follow the clinic on Instagram..." When you have your own experience, you know what different.

Dr Chan is amazing. We transferred our care to Markham Fertility Centre after she left Mount Sinai. The staff and physicians at Markham have been very compassionate. There is a positive vibe at the clinic and that makes a big difference. My first language is Mandarin and they have nurses and admin that can communicate in Chinese which helped us out a lot. Dr Chan can also speak some Mandarin. This made us feel welcome. Thank you Dr Chan and Markham for making our dreams come true.

Despite going through a difficult situation, this clinic makes me feel so comfortable. The receptionist is friendly, the waiting room is spacious, bright and clean and all of the staff are so kind and patient. It really means a lot when you see a team that cares so much about their patients!

My baby died and Dr Wais walked into the room congratulating me with a goodie bag and an ultrasound picture that was not my baby (congrats to whoever’s baby that was). She has no clue who her patients are and even less of a clue on how to treat recurrent pregnancy loss. This in itself was a violation of PHIPA which has been brought forward. I would not recommend this clinic for recurrent pregnancy loss or immunology unless you’re intending on doing IVF. I was only provided baseline testing from the clinic, which is already offered through OHIP and regular OBGYN clinics. The clinic would not provide additional testing or services unless I did IVF with them even though they appear to offer such services on their website. I found this very disheartening as they were not up front about this even though I told them I was not interested in IVF from the beginning. I feel like I wasted months of my fertility journey with them. IVF is not a blanket fix for recurrent pregnancy loss and should not be treated as such. I literally had Dr. Wais tell me today that the only options are the baseline OHIP covered testing or IVF and that is after three miscarriages, one of which happened while under the care of your ‘specialists.’ I waited two months on a waitlist for your clinic to have the exact same testing I could have had done through a GP. What a complete waste of time. Where is this immunology and further testing you speak of in your reply? I’d love to know. That was never presented as an option to me unless I did IVF. As an Accredited organization there should be an avenue to escalate my concerns to the next level so please advise.

We have worked with another fertility centre before we found MFC. We can not say enough about the entire team at Markham Fertility Clinic. From the admin, to the techs and the Drs. All were so kind, professional and really heard our personal story and didn’t treat us just like a case but like building our family really mattered. I don't even know where to start my review... I started my fertility journey in 2019 at a different clinic. My experience was awful - the practice was not run in a client focused way and the doctor used fear tactics to try to get me to agree to treatments. Luckily, later that year, i left to get a second opinion and found Dr. Wais at MFC. My experience was a complete 180 from the first. Dr. Wais has been one of the most empathetic, friendly and knowledgeable doctor's i've ever had. I have two toddlers as a result of my time with MFC and i returned to the fertility world to become a surrogate - my experience with Dr. Wais was a huge component in making this decision. During this journey i spent a brief time at another clinic. I experienced the same treatment I did at the very first clinic i attended which reaffirmed to me that MFC should really be the gold star standard for all fertility clinics. MFC is owned by the practicing doctors within it so they are invested in making it the best it can be. The clinic itself has made drastic changes and continues to strive to not only meet their clients needs, but really show their clients they are the forefront of service - from their admin team and website to the functionality of the office itself. We go through so much in our fertility journeys (emotionally, physically, psychologically, financially), the last thing we should worry about is whether we can trust our doctors medical recommendations and the intent they are based on. I am so grateful to continue to have the opportunity to be a patient at MFC. The clinic, and Dr. Wais specifically, have been like family to me and I will be extremely sad to part with them once my surrogacy journey is complete. Highly recommend MFC to anyone looking for a client focused, empathetic and honest journey.
