The Agora Clinic

We had treatment at the Agora over 2022 & early 2023 and chose them predominately due to the location but also due to the online reviews that I had read. We were patients of theirs for a while but from the outset it was a very personal approach by the whole team that made us both feel very comfortable & genuinely cared about throughout our experience. We were lucky enough to have a successful outcome & cannot be more grateful to the team for their support during all the rounds of treatment. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the Agora to anyone seeking help with their fertility.

Reviews of fertility clinics are tricky - because perhaps I’d feel differently if I’d had a ‘successful’ outcome - but I have since had an experience at another clinic that puts it into context. My two cycles at the Agora were a mixed bag - my consultant seemed knowledgeable but distinctly lacked empathy and kept getting my name wrong (‘well, you must have expected this at your age, Emma’ after my first round failed was not very helpful, particularly as my name is actually Eleanor). Some of the nurses were incredibly kind, some less so. I received incorrect notes/paperwork on more than one occasion. I was hustled out of a room while crying and made to feel a nuisance. My second egg collection was done by the same consultant as the first - she clearly did not remember me and kept speaking as if it were my first round and we’d never met. I obviously do not expect a busy doctor to remember everyone, but maybe she could have just checked my notes and spoken to me accordingly. My second embryo transfer was an awful, chaotic experience, with the consultant snapping and losing his temper at the nurse, who tried her best to smooth things over. Again, I left in tears and felt unsupported at a very intense time. The practice of shoving an iPad in your hand and standing over you while you complete a review on your way out felt extremely insensitive (and I gave the clinic all 10s as the receptionist was watching me). When I had a miscarriage after my second cycle, I had to ask repeatedly for this to be noted as I kept getting reminders about scans I sadly no longer needed (a nurse was very kind and apologetic about this, to be fair). I subsequently had some treatment at the Lister (choosing a long journey over going back to the Agora) and - although I have not had a ‘successful’ outcome - the difference in care was extremely noticeable, making me realise my experience at the Agora was not great.

Having undergone three IVF cycles at The Agora I was treated at all times with respect, compassion, professionalism and good humour by all staff from consultants, nurses, embryologists and receptionists at all times. As A single women pursuing treatment on my own I was worried I would feel different from others having treatment, but because of how the staff were I didn’t feel like this at all, right from when I first walked through their doors to be greeted by the smiling face of the receptionist. Communication was excellent and very quick to respond to any queries I had. I would recommend this clinic to anyone seeking fertility treatment. And of course most importantly, they gave me my rainbow baby.

This is the 2nd fertility clinic I have used in my fertility journey. And I must say The Agora Clinic is amazing. All the staff couldn't be kinder or more supportive. The level of service is amazing. They have a messenger app where you can ask any questions. They reply within minutes. When you ring up they are so helpful and kind. The surgeon and doctors speak to you with compassion and empathy. I did not experience this at the previous clinic. I am writing this without a success story yet. But I will continue my treatment with The Agora. And I hope they will make my dreams of being a mother come true Sophie D

The care and support we received from The Agora was outstanding, processes were always fully explained and they were easy to contact for support or advice with a quick response. All staff are so friendly and helpful, making you feel relaxed in what is an extremely difficult and emotional process. If we are ever in a position to try and expand our family we would not hesitate in returning to The Agora.

Where to even begin?! Our journey with The Agora started in 2017 when all we had was a tiny dream. Step forward six years and thanks to The Agora, we have two beautiful children. We have been successful using IUI as well as IVF as conception methods. The Agora were open and honest with us each step of the way and every single member of the team we interacted with was always extremely friendly, helpful and professional. I had a 5* wonderful experience from the moment I walked into The Agora. I cannot recommend enough. Each and every staff member were lovely, kind, professional and attentive. The clinic is brand new, sparkerly clean and has the very best technology. My first round of IVF my ovaries responded very well but ended up being enlarged and a little sore (no fault of the Agora just some body’s over respond to the medication) The nurse on the day of Embryo transfer 5 days after the egg retrieval decided not to go ahead as she wanted me to recover and to not gamble my chances. I’m so greatful for the care and decision to not just pop it in anyway. It saved me from enduring the emotional distress of it perhaps not working. I returned 2 months later and had the same embryo transfered. They were sure that I was fully recovered and as healthy as possible. That same embryo and the nurses decision is now the reason I’m pregnant. That shows the level of care they offer. Thank you Agora!
